Hello - here's a little information about me...
I am...
- MB Deed in SecondLife - @mbmccandless on Twitter - MaryBeth Hancock McCandless on Facebook - and mbmccandless@gmail.com in all of my Google connections.
- part of the team which started this grand exploration in SecondLife in June of 2009. I've come to understand virtual/digital space as 'real' space in my life, so I still search for words to clearly express this understanding - if you have ideas - send them my way. I don't think we do a good job of communicating these digital contexts to those who haven't jumped in and experienced them for themselves.
- actively involved in a Presbyterian congregation in Elizabethtown, KY. I also serve on staff there.
- a half time student at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. I'm working toward a Master of Divinity and believe God is calling me toward congregational ministry as a Minister of Word and Sacrament.
- actively exploring God's call for diversity and unity in the Church (both PC(USA) and the Church in the world) and am committed to inclusion of all persons in the promises of God in Christ through Spirit.

- resist labels because labels seem to tell so little of the story - but I also recognize the need for labels (like 'Presbyterian' for example) when I begin to describe the vision I have for ministry in a multicultural (in the very broadest sense of that word) world.
- am also wife of a minister/real estate agent/auctioneer/professional Santa who blesses my life in multiple ways - he is Nic Murrayforth in SL; and I'm mom to a couple of teenagers.
