31st Sunday in Ordinary Time

We Gather in God's Name

Opening Video

I will talk to my brothers

Opening Sentences

Leader: As Ruth loved Naomi and thus chose to follow her God, may we love those who inspire us to follow YOU, true God.

People: As Naomi trusted You and inpired Ruth's love with her own, may we show we are Your disciples by our love for those who depend upon us, and point them toward You.

Leader: As You led Ruth and Naomi through the story that they did not yet know, lead us now in Your story, although we do not know our days.

People: As Naomi's knowledge of your Law was used by You to provide for them, may we know Your Word and may You lead us to safety as we follow Your Word.

All: We follow You, the God of Naomi and Ruth!

Opening Prayer

We Hear God's Word

Old Testament Scripture Reflection

Psalm 146

New Testament Scripture Reflection

"Hebrews 9:11-14

But when Christ came as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the

greater and perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation), he entered once

for all into the Holy Place, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood,

thus obtaining eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, with the sprinkling of

the ashes of a heifer, sanctifies those who have been defiled so that their flesh is purified,

how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without

blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!"

Oh the blood of Jesus

We Respond in Prayer

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession

Please stand when offering a prayer, so others will know you have the floor.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.

Amen.
