24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

We Gather in God's Name

Opening Sentences

Leader: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

People: Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.

Leader: They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.

People: Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Leader: In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

People: It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

All: It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Closing Prayer

We Go in Peace
