Peace Prayer of St Francis
Opening Sentences
Leader: He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them:
People: If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross
and follow me.
Leader: For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for
my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.
People: For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?
ALL: Indeed, what can they give in return for their life?

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we
forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the
kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Closing Prayer
(Offered by a member of the community)

wherever he may send you, [name]

at the wonders he has shown you, [name]
may he bring you home rejoicing, [name]
once again into our doors, [name].
