CHRISTMAS DAY

We Gather in God's Name

Opening Prayer Song

"Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love for the World"

Christmas

Reader 1: Today we light four candles- the first Candle is called HOPE and it is a reminder that God's promises are true.

Reader 2: The second Candle is called PEACE, God's gentle loving peace for our lives.

Reader 3: The third Candle is called JOY, because of God's absolute presence in our lives.

Reader 4: The fourth Candle is called LOVE, because of God's great love for us.

[The first , second, third, and fourth Advent Candles are lighted]

Tonight we also light the Christ Candle to remind us of Jesus' birth. And to remind us that HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE are God's gifts to us.

[The white Advent Candle in the middle is lit]

We Hear God's Word

First Scripture Reading

"Isaiah 35:1-10"

Gospel Reading

"Luke 2:1-14 (15-20)"

We Respond in Prayer

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession

Please stand when offering a prayer, so others will know you have the floor.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.

Amen.

Closing Prayer Song

"Go Tell It On The Mountain"

We Go in Peace
