Christmas 2
We Gather in God's Name
Call to Worship: The Bells of Taize
<mp3>http://www.taize.fr/IMG/mp3/bells.mp3</mp3>
Opening Song: In the Lord, I'll Be Ever Thankful
<mp3>http://mrlocke.net/files/InTheLord.mp3</mp3>
In the Lord, I'll be ever thankful In the Lord, I will rejoice Look to God, do not be afraid Lift up your voices; the Lord is near! Lift up your voices; the Lord is near!
We Hear God's Word
Psalm 138
I thank you, Lord, with all my heart, you have heard the words of my mouth. In the presence of the angels I will bless you. I will adore before your holy temple. I thank you for your faithfulness and love which excel all we ever knew of you. On the day I called, you answered; you increased the strength of my soul. All the rulers on earth shall thank you when they hear the words of your mouth. They shall sing of the Lord’s ways: “How great is the glory of the Lord.” The Lord is high yet looks on the lowly and the haughty God knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of affliction you give me life and frustrate my foes. You stretch out your hand and save me, your hand will do all things for me Your love, O Lord, is eternal, discard not the work of your hands.
Song: Nada Te Turbe
Nada te turbe Nada te espanta Quien a Dios tiene Nada le falta Nada te turbe Nada te espanta Solo Dios basta
1 John 1:1-4
We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
We Respond in Prayer
Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession
Please stand when offering a prayer, so others will know you have the floor.
A Time of Silence
This time is the heart of the Taize service -- please use it to meditate or reflect silently on all the prayers that have been voiced, as well as those that remain unvoiced.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
We Go in Peace
Closing Song: Jesus Remember Me
<mp3>http://mrlocke.net/files/JesusRememberMe.mp3</mp3>
Jesus, remember me When you come into your kingdom Jesus, remember me When you come into your kingdom.
