We Gather in God's Name

Opening Prayer

Dear God,

We have come here tonight to worship you and to pray.

We ask that you take the burdens that we carry,

Reveal to us the reasons for our pain,

Answer the questions that haunt us,

Reveal the purposes of our lives.

Please help us to let go of the things that hold us back,

help us to let go of our illusions and falsehoods.

Please restore us to your peace.

Amen

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.

Amen.

Closing Prayer

Dear God Thank you for hearing our prayers, For making us feel closer to you, For making us feel closer to the needs of our neighbors, For encouraging us to love one another as you love us. Amen
