Litany of Praise

Leader: Risen Christ, you are alive for ever; we worship you.

People: We praise you, Risen Lord!

Leader: You took the lowest place to reveal the Father’s love to every human being.

People: We praise you, Risen Lord!

Leader: You ascended to your Father and our Father.

People: We praise you, Risen Lord!

Leader: O Christ, just as on the evening of your resurrection, you breathe your Holy Spirit upon each one of us.

People: We praise you, Risen Lord!

Leader: You make us witnesses to your presence.

People: We praise you, Risen Lord!

Opening Song: Prepare the Way of the Lord

Prepare the way of the Lord
Prepare the way of the Lord
And all people will see the salvation of our God

We Hear God's Word

Old Testament Scripture

Psalm 23

Lord, you are my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures
where you give me repose.
Near restful waters you lead me,
to revive my drooping spirit.

You guide me along the right path;
you are true to your name.
If I should walk in the valley of darkness
no evil would I fear.
You are there with your crook and your staff;
with these you give me comfort.

You have prepared a banquet for me
in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil;
my cup is overflowing.

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me
all the days of my life.
In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell
for ever and ever.

Song: Alleluia

Alleluia!  Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia!  Alleluia! Alleluia!
Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God)
Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God)
Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God)
Alleluia!  Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia!  Alleluia! Alleluia!

New Testament Scripture

1 Peter 2:21-23

Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

We Respond in Prayer

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession

Please stand when offering a prayer, so others will know you have the floor.

A Time of Silence

This time is the heart of the Taize service -- please use it to meditate or reflect silently on all the prayers that have been voiced, as well as those that remain unvoiced.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

We Go in Peace

Closing Song: Wait for the Lord

<mp3>http://mrlocke.net/files/WaitfortheLord.mp3</mp3>

Wait for the Lord,
Whose day is near.
Wait for the Lord,
Be strong, take heart.
