Prepare the way of the Lord Prepare the way of the Lord And all people will see the salvation of our God
We Hear God's Word
Old Testament Scripture
Psalm 23
Lord, you are my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where you give me repose. Near restful waters you lead me, to revive my drooping spirit. You guide me along the right path; you are true to your name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear. You are there with your crook and your staff; with these you give me comfort. You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing. Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life. In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever.
Song: Alleluia
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God) Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God) Slava tiebie Boze (Glory to thee, O God) Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
In God alone my soul can find rest and peace, In God my peace and joy. Only in God my soul can find its rest, Find its rest and peace.
New Testament Scripture
John 6:35-40
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (…) Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and anyone who comes to me I will never drive away; for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.”
We Respond in Prayer
Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession
Please stand when offering a prayer, so others will know you have the floor.
A Time of Silence
This time is the heart of the Taize service -- please use it to meditate or reflect silently on all the prayers that have been voiced, as well as those that remain unvoiced.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
We Go in Peace
